We have all heard the uncountable health benefits of spinach. However, when it comes to using it in our daily diet, it gets a little complicated. Isn’t it?

Not many people like the robust and earthy taste of spinach. So what should you do if you don’t like the taste of spinach? Simple- Blend it into a smoothie. Trust me; it’s that easy to reap the beautiful benefits of this superfood.

As a kid, I loved watching popeye, the sailor’s men, especially those scenes wherein he would gulp down the entire spinach from that cute spinach labeled tin.

I would often ask my mother if eating spinach would make me as strong as Popeye. lol;) (kids are so pure and innocent).

But yes, it does. It is a very healthy vegetable.

Spinach is highly nutrient and rich in minerals and vitamins like vitamin A, C, K, folic acid, iron, and calcium. Moreover, It also contains an impressive amount of protein and fiber required for the body.

Spinach can be eaten raw, but the body is known to absorb more calcium and iron if consumed, cooked, or blanched.

This wonderful smoothie is also my go-to during the first two weeks of my menstrual cycle, as we tend to lose a lot of iron and nutrients during menstruation.

All the ingredients used in this smoothie help us cope with mood swings and low energy.

Bananas are an excellent source of magnesium that helps smooth the uterus muscle, thereby reducing menstrual cramps.

As we lose out on a lot of iron during menses. It is essential to consume iron-rich food like spinach to avoid iron deficiency or anemia.

Dates are also rich in iron, and it helps in providing energy and replenishment to the body.

Coconut water, as we all know, is an excellent source of hydration. Hence I try to boost my iron intake and refuel my body by having this delicious smoothie.

Wishing good health to you all 😉
