Trust me; I didn’t even know something like avocado existed on this planet because back in the ’90s, it was hard to find such imported fruits in the local Indian market.

I was introduced to avocado and guacamole when I started traveling to countries, and since then, guac became my go-to when eating nachos or fajitas.

During one of my travels, I visited the Marks and Spencer’s food hall in London, and I went crazy when I saw the Hass avocados retailing for 2 pounds for a bunch. I purchased almost a dozen of them, and when I reached back to Singapore, I dint know what to do with so many avocados.

That is when I first made guacamole, and it turned out really well.

So if you are making it for the first time, take a chill pill because it’s that simple to make guacamole.

Ingredients for the Best Guacamole Recipe

1. Ripe Avocados– As avocados are the primary ingredient in guacamole, make sure to use a ripe avocado or wait until it ripens; a quick tip for ripening the avocado is by placing them alongside bananas or apples.

In my opinion, Hass avocados do wonderfully in making guacamole. However, you may use Kodaikanal, Bangalore, or any Indian avocados too.

2. Lemon juice– Lemon juice elevates this creamy dip’s taste by adding a zesty flavor, which you may add or subtract as per your taste.

3. Cilantro– Fresh chopped cilantro is another beautiful herb and is a must for flavorful guacamole.
