How To Make Hummus?

Hummus is made by blending mashed chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and tahini in a food processor.

It is quite popular in the middle east and used as dips or spread for sandwiches and salads. Moreover, It is easy to make your own batch of hummus, and it tastes hugely better than the store-bought tins.

I remember having hummus for the first time in Dubai, and I instantly fell in love with the flavor and its smooth and creamy texture, since then, I have made this fabulous recipe in small batches every month. I wholly enjoy it on my salads, sandwiches, and almost everything.

Tips to Make the Best Hummus Recipe

1. Tahini- Tahini is an essential ingredient when making Hummus. Try not to skip it, as it brings so much flavor to the recipe, and it also helps you increase your overall protein intake.

2. Overcooked chickpea- Overcooking the chickpeas helps in the quick blending of chickpeas, making them creamy and mushy quickly.

3. Pass the Store-Bought Canned Chickpeas- It makes some difference in using the fresh, dried chickpeas, provided you have sufficient time to cook. If using a pressure cooker, It just takes three whistles, and your chickpeas are ready.

4. Air-tight container for storage- It stays suitable for up to a week in the fridge. Make sure to use an airtight container to preserve its freshness.

5. Peeling the skin from chickpeas or not- I have tried both ways, and I agree that peeling the skin can get you the super smoothest texture of your hummus. However, it can be too tedious and time-consuming, So I prefer the skin as it still tastes acceptable and preferably easier.

Cooking Instructions

1. Add 1 cup boiled or canned chickpea to a food processor and blend it.
